Providing one-stop solutions means more than just hard metal production, grinding and eroding. We have also mastered other specialised processes that allow us to meet your requirements even more precisely.
Brazing and bonding
Brazing and bonding are processes used to permanently join carbide to a substrate, such as steel. Depending on the application and load, we select the appropriate joining technique to optimally ensure the tool’s functionality and service life.
Brazing
In brazing, carbide and the substrate are permanently joined using molten brazing alloy. The brazing alloy flows into the joint area and, once solidified, forms a high-strength, temperature-resistant bond without melting the base materials.
Bonding
In bonding, carbide and the substrate are permanently joined using a specially formulated high-performance adhesive. Once hardened, a reliable bond is formed that is particularly suitable for applications with lower mechanical loads.
Customers benefit from an optimally matched bond between carbide and the substrate, which ensures high stability, long service life, and reliable performance.
Milling and turning
We use milling specifically to prepare the geometry of materials such as steel and brass to be precisely joined with hard metal.
Turning plays a key role in our production, especially when manufacturing electrodes. We prepare them so that they can be used directly and reliably in the subsequent erosion process.
Both processes are also used in the production of gauges. These are then used to position or hold workpieces in downstream manufacturing and testing processes.
Lapping and polishing
Lapping and polishing are ultra-fine machining processes used to refine hard surfaces. During these processes, even the smallest amounts of material are removed in a controlled manner to achieve the highest precision and surface quality.
Lapping
During lapping the workpiece is processed on a lapping wheel using a lapping compound that contains fine abrasive grains. These grains remove minute amounts of material evenly and in a controlled manner resulting in the highest dimensional accuracy, the tightest tolerances, and excellent surface quality.
Polishing
During polishing the surface is machined using a polishing wheel and a diamond paste. This process smooths out the finest irregularities and reduces surface roughness resulting in exceptionally smooth to mirror-smooth surfaces of the highest quality.
Customers benefit from excellent surface quality and the tightest tolerances, which ensure optimal function and a long service life for the components. This precise, ultra-fine machining improves fit accuracy and enhances the quality of sophisticated workpieces.
Measuring and testing
We are always talking about precision, surface quality, dimensional accuracy, tolerances … We carry out strict measuring and testing procedures in-house so that you can actually rely on what we say. In the air-conditioned measuring room, we can subdivide and document down to one thousandth of a millimetre (1 micrometre). However, our Rotodur quality is created at a much earlier stage: our qualified employees use all their professional skills and the latest machinery during the production process.
Laser engraving
High-quality tools and moulded pieces are part of complex production and logistics processes. The better these components are inscribed, the smoother the processes run. Save yourself the hassle of handling and organising with other suppliers – let us inscribe your order straight away.
